Outlast® is a high-performance temperature-regulating material originally developed for NASA. Designed to proactively manage heat and moisture, Outlast® improves comfort by absorbing excess body heat, storing it, and then releasing it as needed, helping maintain an optimal skin microclimate.

What is Outlast® material?

Outlast® technology features patented phase change materials (PCMs) that actively respond to the skin’s microclimate. When the skin temperature rises, Outlast® absorbs and stores excess heat. As the skin cools, it releases the stored heat, helping to maintain a stable and comfortable temperature range.

Unlike moisture-wicking fabrics that react only after sweat has formed, Outlast® works proactively, reducing the need to sweat in the first place. This makes it ideal for users with limited movement or impaired thermoregulation.

What products are available using Outlast®?

Medifab offers Outlast® as an upgrade option in several key postural support products. This advanced material is incorporated into the surface layer closest to the user’s skin*, delivering a noticeable improvement in comfort for temperature-sensitive individuals.

*An exception to this is Snooooooze products, where it is underneath the Terry towelling material.
