The JAY J3 wheelchair back range offers a multitude of different widths, heights, and contoured depth back shells to suit the clients individual positional needs. Each back support is lightweight and adjustable, with numerous hardware choices allowing for easy installation.
Carbon Fiber Shell available
The J3 Back now offers a Carbon Fiber shell option for the ultimate in lightweight performance. Weighing as little as 1 kg. when combined with RH hardware, the J3 Carbon Fiber Back is the perfect addition to any Quickie ultra lightweight wheelchair. The J3 Carbon Fiber Back can also be paired with the Freestyle Backrest System, available on the Quickie 7R and 7RS.

Five Contour Shapes
The Jay J3's solid shell is available in five contour shapes to provide posterior and lateral pelvic and lateral thoracic stability to wheelchair clients with varying postures and functional needs.
Posterior (PA) - 2.2" of lateral thoracic support
Posterior Lateral (PL) - 3" of lateral thoracic support
Posterior Deep (PD) - 6" of lateral support
Posterior Deep Lateral (PDL) - 6" of lateral thoracic support
Posterior Deep Contour (PDC) - 6" of lateral pelvic support
Four Support Height Levels
The JAY J3 wheelchair back is available in four different height levels to provide support for clients with wide ranges of torso heights and accommodate different levels of injury.
Lower Thoracic - 6.5" to 9.5"
Mid Thoracic - 12" to 15"
Upper Thoracic - 16.5" to 19.5"
Shoulder - 21" to 24"
Four Hardware Options
The J3 Backrest offers four hardware options to accommodate a span of priorities and wheelchair configurations.
SH - Easy to install, 2-point, quick-release hardware that allows for numerous attaching positions
RH - 25% lighter than SH hardware and optimised for ultra lightweight wheelchairs without compromising adjustability
TH - 2-point, quick-release hardware optimised for tilt-in-space wheelchairs, with a lengthened attachment pin and 226 kg weight capacity
4-Point - Quick-release hardware that withstands greater force by distributing across four mounting locations
Spine-Align: Let the Back Fit the User
Fitting the back to the user not the user to the back is the goal of the Spine-Align Posture Conforming system. This is accomplished by combining a wide range of individual foam components to create unique shapes that optimise postural support, evenly distribute pressure, and maximise function. Velcro strips attach to each shape so they can be placed into hundreds of configurations. The flexibility of the system is boundless.
